Mission
Adult children of alcoholics or dysfunctional families often experience themselves as old children (old souls) and young adults, feeling isolated, overly responsible, toxic levels of guilt/ shame, disconnected from feelings, needy or hyperindependent. Growing up in chaos or addiction leaves a mark on the nervous system. In therapy we work to uncover survival mechanisms and support you in reclaiming a sense of agency and autonomy in your life.
Trauma is not what happened,it’s what happened inside of you as a result. Whether you’ve experienced a single impactful event or multiple events over time, post-traumatic growth and healing are possible. In trauma therapy, we conceptualize trauma as a wound that deeply affects your psychological and emotional world. In recovery, we work to rebuild a healthy self-concept, cultivate secure attachment, and strengthen emotion regulation by engaging with your past, present, and future. Our approach is relational and empowering, rooted in memory reconsolidation and nervous system regulation.
Anxiety often shows up as general worry, hypervigilance, intrusive thoughts, difficulty sleeping or physical sensations. It can feel hard to face fears and live life to the fullest. In treatment we use evidence based modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy. We work to reconnect you with your internal world, regulate your nervous system and create a way forward.
Whether you are struggling with food and body image or stepping down from treatment looking for an eating disordered informed therapist, we provide evidence based, relational care and have a deep understanding of the ongoing nature of recovery. We support our clients in maintaining recovery or initiating the process. We work alongside eating disorder informed registered dieticians and believe in a comprehensive holistic approach.
Humans are wired for connection, relationships while fulfilling and satisfying often become some of the most challenging work we will ever do. In therapy we work to target and heal attachment wounds, disrupt ongoing patterns that often leave you feeling stuck or disconnected from deep connection and emotional safety while learning skills to engage in vulnerable, empathetic and assertive communication.
I’m a psychotherapist and a person first. My own therapy journey started as a kid, so I know how it feels to sit on both sides of the process.
Drawn to understanding people, relationships, and the mind–body connection, I’ve spent my life studying trauma, healing, and what it means to build deeper connections with ourselves and others. I hold a Master’s from NYU and advanced training in cognitive and trauma-informed therapies.
My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. Together, we process trauma, break cycles, and uncover the self you were always meant to be, so you can live a life that feels true, grounded, and free.
